Cardboard props work designed by me and completed on a $50 budget. All props were built by the sixteen-actor team over the course of two four-hour rehearsals under my instruction, with the help of build sheets.
The featured items in this show were the cardboard prop journals with working lights. Each actor built and decorated their own journal. Patrick, our lighting designer, provided gels to cover the press-button lights embedded in them. Journals were lit when actors “read” out of them, which happens frequently throughout the show.
